I care about using words that accurately reflect reality. Ideally both by definition and connotation. I think that "conspiracy" may technically be accurate in this case, based on the definition of the word, but as I've said at least twice now, I wouldn't use it because it has connotations that are not accurate. If I was interested in word games for rhetorical purposes, I would have endorse the term, but it makes people think of a nefarious and/or illegal secret evil plot, and that simply isn't what you have here, so I don't want to create the impression that it is.
