Why would they try to get free health care in Canada? I don't know. Maybe because it's free? There are people who will go to great lengths to get something at a cut rate or for free. And not everyone has scruples. Why bother with the trip? I have relatives in Tucson who go to Mexico for cheaper meds. It doesn't seem at all strange to me that a Detroiter would get medical care in Canada if it was cost effective to do so.
