Good points, but the history of the world is also filled with economic decline for every world power that ever existed. But I suppose "this time it's different" and the US will prevail for 3,000 years. Theoretically it could if we all make the best decisions in a timely fashion and actually allow things like market forces to work while absolutely nobody cheats or manipulates the markets or hides market activity from public view using dark pools of liquidity. Actually, I think we'll sort of muddle through a period of steady decline that is painful, but not suddenly apocalyptic. Jim
