You have to be able to see there is huge difference between how societies viewed cannibalism and slavery 1,000 years ago and today. It is THAT DIFFERENCE that is important. All slavery and cannibalism today is conducted illegally in the shadows of societies. As recently as 1850 slaves were openly auctioned in the American south. There is a difference is social attitudes today. Over the last couple of hundred years as we became better educated we also became more civilized. Can you understand that at all?
