If you expect politicians to be IN FAVOR of cutting their own throats by deliberately toppling the nation into massive Depressions I expect nothing of the sort. The whole idea is almost completely irrelevant to this discussion since fiscal stimulus packages are not necessary to avoid toppling the nation in to a massive depression, and in fact are often ineffective at even lessening recessions. Because we are living in one of the the worst* of possible economic models with Private Profits / Socialized Losses* Its the socialized losses that are the problem. If the profits where also socialized it wouldn't be an improvement.
