Madharry, ABT held in ira. My taxable account was full, and I had a bunch of cash available to me in my large ira, so that's where I accumulated the position.

Sad to say though, the tax advantage of holding for long-term capital gains (vs. selling for short-term) wouldn't apply to me for my taxable accounts anyway. I have enough capital loss carryovers from tax years '08 and '09, that they'd cancel any capital gains, long-term or short-term, should they occur this year. I've got enough losses to where it almost encourages me to make short-term trades, since if there are trading gains, they'll be offset by the carry-over losses.
