One thing to note about UTEK although it has held up well in the semi-equipment shake out. Since the earnings announcement, 6 of the 7 analysts have downgraded UTEK's earnings estimates for 1998 to a consensus $1.40 from $1.53. Evidently, UTEK's $.02 shortfall caused them to sharpen their pencils once again. I don't know about anybody else, but I am buying UTEK with 1999 in mind as the first leg up in what I think will be an earnings explosion. I am not sure the big boys and girls care about 1999 let alone 1998 at this point. They are still trying to deal with 1997. Such is the advantage of being an individual investor. Thank goodness, I am the only one I have to report to and I am not a slave to beating the index by the time the year ends.
