"Its looking like an area of instability has been created."

Chile is on a major subduction zone. And it appears to be on the move. Literally. There was a post a couple of days ago about how Conception was shifted laterally by about 3 meters.

That's what was shocking....how much movement Concepcion experienced during that quake.

So, yeah. It wouldn't be a surprise if they get some more shocks. Especially clusters of them.

As it turned out, they were not new quakes as reported but aftershocks on the same fault........which is a mite better. But still, like you say, the plate on which Chile sits does seem to be on the move and keeps bumping up against the Pacific plate. Not a good situation. Since I live on the rimm of fire, I would like to see things calm down.

so you were bothered by some blogger showing Obama as the joker( and how insulting and demeaning it was to the president) and when I showed you Vanity fair doing it to Bush, they weren't the news media.

So does CBS count ?
