one gram of gold per ton of dirt. Amarillo invested USD2 million out of 6,5 million they invested in Brazil.

Technical analysis shows that the separation can be done mecanically without resortiing to mercury which is polluting.

About 20 people will work in the prospection stage managed by a Kiwi geologist) After that period the compnay will make a decision it is really economic viable.

The prospection with 1.500m drilled a month. (Ithink they are delimiting te area). In total about 10.000 meters of rock strata have been already analysed.

Rio Tinto used to mine there until 2006. Found the gold content too little and passed concession to Amarillo Gold.

In Serra Pelada, goldf content was 20 grams per ton of rock. Today 4 grams of gold per ton of rock is the referecne for viability in Brazil.

Research showed that the gold is in rocks 200 meters below grade. It requiries big machinery.

HISTORY
The Lavras do Sul has its origin in the extraction of gold. In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, European explorers, Canadians and Brazilians from different regions mined there to collect the gold nuggets.

The region underground holds great potential for mineral resources. The gold ran out in mid-1980 and for some time mining ceased to be explored. However, it is proven that there are reservoirs to be exploited in various locations in the city.
