Fed computers will be OK in 2000 -- Kelley

WASHINGTON, Nov. 4 (Reuters) - Criticial computers used by the Federal Reserve to move trillions of dollars among U.S. banks will not suffer from the so-called ''millennium bug,'' Fed Governor Edward Kelley said Tuesday.

Fed systems, including the Fedwire and Automated Clearing House, are being renovated to guarantee they will process dates correctly after December 31, 1999, Kelley told the House Banking Committee in prepared testimony.
