If strong majorities of the public DO NOT SUPPORT balanced federal budgets, and actually prefer that we devalue our currency endlessly then, (ultimately), that is what will happen.

Regardless of WHATEVER stands in the people's way.

HOWEVER a strong and direct prohibition against deficit spending --- once inserted into our constitution --- would be the single most difficult impediment standing in the way of the deficit spenders.

Nothing else would come anywhere even close....
