Hello Gregory, in your last post you said:

Still not sure, however, whether a strong JV deal leaves us with the necessity to have development staff, unless AIP plans to develop its remaining holdings itself.

The way I read the release, it seems that AIPN hired those 2 guys to be an important part in the company's search for new oil and gas concessions in Kazakhstan and other former CIS. Look at their backgrounds, Pavlov is a Geophysicist, speaks Russian, has extensive experience in the region and therefore would be great person to take a look at many prospective concessions and their old Soviet siesmic data readings. The other fellow has an MBA, also speaks Russian, and will be in charge of business development...sounds to me that AIPN will actively participate in other oil & gas concessions in the CIS region once they get $$$$ to buy them. I think that $$$ is coming soon or else why would a cash strapped company try to even bid for other promising oil plays if they didn't have the cash?

The fact they they said "talks with several industry partners resumed" tells me WAVETECH's 60+ days of analysis and interpretation of Soviet data has ended and they now have HARD NUMBERS that were done by an unbiased third party. Additionally, I would guess that the royalty agreements with the Kazakh government are done, or else they would not have resumed negotiations and discussions with possible industry partners. I would not be surprised if we see an announcement on the royalty agreements this week.

As far as Dale Woody is concerned, I thought there was never a need to hire him in the first place. However I think AIPN hired him so as to send a message to all prospective JV partners that AIPN is prepared to go it alone thereby forcing and earlier and more lucrative agreement for AIPN. After all, why would his services be needed if lets say a MOBIL or Royal Dutch Shell, signed on to be JV partner and was given a 50% stake. These behemoths have their own staffs and equally capable general managers. They would have no need for Mr Woody. So IMHO, Mr. Woody was just there for show as AIPN never intended to develop the concession, not even a small part. GaryS of Millenium hinted at me a few weeks back that AIPN may just get a nice large lump sum and collect checks for their remaining interest for the next 40 years, then use that lump sum for other oil * gas opportunities. So I think that is game plan here.

Regards
Juan
