China swept debt under carpet: threw capital and labor at the economy and hoped it would go away. It did not. They further pushed it in front of them.

Meanwhile, they wrecked havoc with the westerner economies. They expected there would be no competition and they would recoup what they had thrown at the economy.

Somewhere along the way there was an unexpected factor they did not count with:

The imbalances their own actions were causing to the world economy and would boomerang back to them. That happened 2007-2009 => Forced to thrown a Gargantuan amount of money at the economy in stimulus plan.

Now the amount to be pushed ahead of them is much bigger.
