Ten, I can buy the argument that we do have strategic interests in remaining allied with Israel. However, we have to think very carefully what we want out of the relationship.

This bullshit of the the US will always support other countries no matter what is for the birds. If another country is doing the wrong things, then we should not support them. We should have allies based on mutual interests. When those interests diverge, then we need to do what is best for America.

Over the past decade, Israel's war with the Arab world is making it difficult on the US. Israeli peace with Palestinians would take the sails out of a lot of the Arab world's grievances with us. That is why we care. However, there is not excuse for Israel to slap us in the face like they did when Biden visited.

Protocol demands an open apology for that insult. Either that, or consequences. Israel needs to know that we are allies, but the US must get something out of this relationship too. Otherwise, what's the point?
