If you see a politician, lawyer or economist on the ballot, don't vote. Go home and get your gun. Sierra Club would not exist if it were not for politicos putting the deduction box on your tax form. Canada is the only country in the world that has a deduction box for tax losses of others on your tax form. Flow through. Interestingly flow through of tax losses is not confined to just mining for companies. I think to stimulate an economy they should extend flow through investments to other sectors as well. They tried with R and D tax grants but they were subject to abuse. It as illegal for a lawyer to sit in the house of commons in England for 1000 years. They recently made it legal. Now it is all lawyers. Why was this so? Because King John and his successors invented the science of lawyering in order to circumvent the Magna Carta. Every one of its provisions and terms were successfully struck down by predatory kings and English governments in the succeeding centuries, until the constitution of England is now obsolete. Nevertheless every one of its provisions gave birth to a legal principle, from habeas corpus, jury of peers, freedom from unreasonable search and seizure, necessity of warrants, testimony of more than one man not an officer (not much recognized today), right of self-defense, wife not being able to testify against a husband, freedom of inheritance from tax if a will exists, representation in government, freedom from excise within the country, etc etc etc..
