If the stupid greedy and poor don't take their lumps they will drag everyone down with them. What you refer to as 'they' came out of the dark ages because of benevolent governments that stepped in and helped whenever the going got tough?

Take away the section 8 subsidies and you will find out really quick that a LOT of people who think they were wealthy will be scrambling to protect what they have.
