Few U.S. banks have year 2000 computer problems
WASHINGTON, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Fewer than one percent of U.S. banks are having significant problems preparing their computers for the year 2000, a top bank regulator told Congress on Tuesday.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp surveyed 81 percent of the 6,200 banks it supervises and found about one in 10 experiencing moderate problems, the agency's acting chairman Andrew Hove told the House Banking Committee.
