<SanFran has had a net outflow of *families* with children for years> The Bay area has tons of children -- the area is home to 6 or 7 million people, only 750k of them living in SF itself.

As for your comment -- <so> -- the so is simply this: We are witnessing the first time in the history of America where it is plausible to say that we have no future. Our children are our future, and our children -- in the sense of the bulk of an entire generation -- are not going to be able to make it in this world. That is the tragedy you don't seem to see as it unfolds around you right now -- right this minute. We are producing a generation of dead enders -- and it won't matter how low the dollar goes or how far down our standard of living is reduced, we won't be able to compete in a global economy where the future powers on planet earth will be the ones who had the intelligence and foresight to at least educate their kids.
