<if you are a parent with a child in public school today, what would you do?>

I am a parent with children in public school and I can tell you exactly what we have done. We live in a rich area and we got together and voted higher taxes on ourselves to save our schools. And we have unreal fund raisers -- fund raisers that raise funds beyond your imagination. We will not have layoffs -- we have not lost music and art and language education -- my daugher studies three languages at public school and is in the drama program as well as the chess club and so on. My daughter -- in first grade -- reads at a grade six level because she goes to a good, well funded school. The facilities are great. The activities are great. The school is fantastic. And it stands as a stark reminder that it IS mainly all about money. To deny it is like saying that the Jews in Germany just liked to hang out in ghettos and sniff gas, and they should have known better.
