That statement struck me as the kind of clipped speech we all engage in. So it comes out as unfortunate. Of course, creationism can be taught in schools. Religion can be taught in schools. But one can attempt to convert. One could do a comparative public issues course which looked at creationism, separation of church and state, and science. I don't see why not.

The problem has been that creationism comes with two packages: it's a theory like evolution is a theory and thus it's science (which is clearly wrong and just a way to get a religious point of view into the science curriculum). Or the Christian nation stuff so we need to get more religious advocacy into the schools less they destroy our heritage. Also unacceptable.
