Because our satellites are essentially “mirrors in the sky,” and all of our network’s switches and hardware are located on the ground, we can easily and relatively inexpensively modify our ground hardware and software to use other wave forms to meet customer demands for new and innovative services and products. At this time, we are developing several inexpensive additional products and services which will operate in this manner. Looks like it will be "sink-or-swim" time for the IGO's. Qualcomm support of the 1st Generation Gateway hardware/software will be terminated effective January 2012. Time to belly up to the bar for the Hughes Gateway infrastructure.... Or be left behind... We have depended on Qualcomm as the exclusive manufacturer of phones using the IS 41 CDMA North American standard, which incorporates Qualcomm proprietary technology.
