The problem is that Obama is not an orthodox conservative. Government by anyone other than orthodox conservatives means the destruction of our economy, morality, education and defenses. Period. The modern conservative orthodoxy will permit no other truth than that. Compromises for the sake of a governing consensus are a sellout to our enemies, foreign and domestic.

Oh yeah, he's black. I think that's ridiculous. It implies that if John Edwards or Hillary, or other Dem. candidate from 2008 was now president that they would have an easy time because they are white. Also about as valid as saying that liberals do not like Justice Thomas because he is black. It is just not true.

Look, people react emotionally to Biden and Pelosi too- and I don't think either of them is black. While I agree with you that there is a lot of racism in America (and whites and all minorities have large racist populations) - I don't think this political anger and fear is racial, or primarily racial. Do you remember the Clinton fear and anger? There was crazy talk back when Clinton was president (although I do remember he was the first "black" president). Folks went around the bend- accusing him of all sorts of wacky stuff. And, honestly, as bad as Bush the baby was, he wasn't as bad as the nuttiest parts of the dem left said he was- though he was plenty bad (as far as I'm concerned.) So that fear and anger you are seeing is just the fear and anger of a motivated fringe.
