No. The Jamestown site was not selected for its suitability as a colony site. It was sited as a fort. I guess they figured they would get what they needed from the Indians because of their superiority. Typical wingnut 'thinking'.

That this turnaround coincided with the end of a drought that had begun the year before the settlers arrival probably indicates multiple factors were involved besides the colonists' aptitude.[
