We might not be far apart then -- and I deeply regret that the productive capacity of the US seems mired in a long term decline. My views here today have been copious but amount to one thing above all: No hanky panky in the sphere of private banking, central banking or political posturing are going to do much for us unless and until we grasp the fact that it is people who grow the economy -- skilled, educated, hard working and entrepreneurial people. Abolishing the Fed and/or putting all politicians and bankers in jail makes for amusing chatter, but does nothing to move us forward even an inch if we do not get our priorities straight.
