Sean's post was reasonable. Also I think it should be noted that SIII intelligently gave up the high end 3-d to 3dfx. THe 3dfx vodoo is fantastic and new release in Feb voodooII. Oak tech has a cheap chip that competes with Voodoo but that is it basically. SIII is focusing on next level think of it a 486 to pentium jump. It went from 2d to 3d to video applications. Faroujda venture is for video quality cards the next step in cards. They will have their new product and day again be patient. I believe management is dictating the future with video quality cards . . . just the obvious next step. And for the fools running around saying the George must go you really do not understand what he does . . . you are just amateurs who love a CEO when your stock goes up and cry when it goes down. This is tech investing you must endure and ride it out. SIII will not run to 20 few stocks do without risk. Risk to reward very attractive right now. Also if you think SIII is having problems competing think of some of the others.

Sean, I suspect the question in many peoples mind is "should I sell now, and buy 3 or 4 dollars lower".

Sean,

Thank you for the good post. This thread is taken over by shorts, bears and masochists. So much crap you have to read to get to 1 good post. I don't like the current management myself, but they are not crooks. As the matter of fact S3 management have the reputation on the Street as a most conservative. They never hyped this company before and were criticized for that on this thread many times. Many companies, if not all are moving revenues between quarters. But smart people are moving revenues forward (not backward like S3 did in the past). Maybe new CFO is a smart guy after all. AK

<The hit today was pretty reasonable given the circumstances. >

Yes, very reasonable on that day. What about the 65% loss in the last 45 days? Clearly, people knew about this because there was no other bad news to make the stock sink from 17 1/2 to 9. They missed earnings by a few cents, I hardly think that was cause. Anyway, the stock had already tanked 50% before the earnings announcement. It's sad that this information leaked to so many people because it wouldn't have tanked like this with a couple people selling.
