TJ, I'm very much more in the category of ignorant and stupid than suicidal.

While not suicidal either, Goldsters are fearful and pessimistic. Clutching their family jewels, chanting imprecations to ancient deities, they hope to hide from the great forces swirling around to avoid being sucked into the vortex.

I'm confident and optimistic in my ignorance and stupidity. Goldsters are fearful and pessimistic in their ignorance and stupidity.

Unmitigated intrinsic evil doesn't really come into it in either case.

I note that you are loving your amazing little mobile cyberspace devices and correctly deduce that one timely use will pay for a lifetime of the derisory cost of such amazingly incredible devices and service. You speak more glowingly of such devices than of your baubles. I note that ElM's Experiment is also more interested in such cybersphere connections. It's universal - grandson Hayes [4 years] is taking possession of my electronics as he can get his hands on them = Globalstar phone, Linux EeePC, sound recorder [dictaphone], sundry cellphones and what not. I note more adept usage of various functions, intuitively, than I have achieved... hmmm... disconcerting food for thought related to personal obsolescence and possible senescence.

Mqurice - still not long gold; same old reasons.
