and here i felt really,really bad after writing what i did.
like a mercenary. honest, i like to make everyone laugh.
or that's what i tell myself, since it just happens. i had
to go get another flat fixed today. i rode down there with
one of those little donut tires where the real, but flat,
tire belonged. when the guys asked me for the flat one to
fix, i went blank. then remembered it was lying on the
driveway where i'd left it after removal. they found this
very,very funny. but i don't mind that they laughed at me.
i had done a public service, i now realize.

Unfortunately taking money from the Big People is soooo much easier if you are a Big Person yourself. Remember, for example, when poor Imelda Marcos was down to her last five or six million? Tragic! And so of course Doris Duke lent her (or perhaps gave her) a few more? Did Doris ever give me me me one red cent?

And I bet you got nothing from her either.
