So it's the old political excuse of 'I'll do the right thing when you show me you will do it first... even though it happens to be my turn to act at the moment.' That excuse doesn't really fly, never has and never will. Every public servant is bound by one oath or another to do what is principally right and good in spite of constituent pressures to do otherwise. "...but the dems have to be above the fray, right? right!? " Absolutely. Any other disposition is one of condoning corruption.
