Snow, when too many noses are in the trough, as in North Korea, the serfs expected to work to feed them get restive. Eventually, when under sufficient duress, the tumbrils roll.

Kim is trying to keep the loot flowing but there isn't enough of it. Murdering his own team members won't help him or the process. But it's normal to arrange firing squads to keep the rest of them in line and obedient. The Aztecs used to do live heart-hacking which no doubt created a great deal of fear among the serfs.

When the loot runs out, that's it. Game Over.

The loot is running out in the USA too. Also in NZ at $1 billion per month. Greece is a done deal.

China ran out a century ago and spent decades in North Korean style mode. Now they are off and running.
