I now believe invariably CEO are always confident about their company but if the own 50% of it like you say at least they are eating their own cooking. i could never distinguish between the ones whose companies were about to go over a cliff and the ones that were doing ok from what they were saying most of the time. Thats why I no longer try to have private conversations with management. To me the best evidence of confidence are open market purchases. There are very few managers around that give a rats ass about customers, shareholders, bondholders except in terms of how it affects their own self interest. but at least when a ceo has most of his wealth tied into the company his interests are somewhat alligned with shareholders.

LOAN update,

The company is considering strategic alternatives. I am raising my sell targets, as there may be a catalyst on the horizon.

I'd be ecstatic if the company could get anything near book value.
