The country was running up huge deficits - Obama's deficits are 5x Bush's. the banking system was close to collapse - The banking system was well on its way to recovery. there was depression-era panic - Spurred on primarily by Obama's campaign. Bush was a lame duck - All 2nd term presidents are lame ducks. the lingering impact of those policies will be felt for years, possibly decades - All govt programs and policies are felt for decades, good and bad. Lost jobs that will never come back - Obama has lost more jobs in his first year than Bush did in eight. lost confidence that will never be regained - The VIX closed today at 16, it lowest level in years. lost opportunities that will be picked up by the Chinese and others; lost investment that is gone forever. - Pure speculation on your part, not backed up by facts. Unfortunately, it's much easier to run the ship into the iceberg ... - Which is what Obama is doing.
