it will be just a matter of time before folks realize they've been screwed. It will be nice for people like me who use a lot of medical services, Use an HMO, and know how to work the system. I believe in really looking after myself. And I have learned how to use an HMO. The secret is to get to the top specialists in the system for anything major or chronic and stay at that level. Get to know the people and be very nice to them. Then they will go out of their way to get you the tests, drugs, and procedures you want. Don't use your assigned PCP for anything but as a gateway to the people above him/her. Bouncing around from individual practitioners to specialists outside of an HMO is a very difficult way to get good medical service. The medical system is already set up to favor HMOs, and will be even more so with this bill.
