< Slavery is wrong>

yes, by any moral measures this country is based on...despite assertions to the contrary. As is not allowing people to vote, work, etc. based on sex or race or etc etc etc...

<and so is torture but you can't do anything and you don't owe anybody anything for something that happened before you were born>

Agreed... although it's natural (and in our society thought of as moral) for those who see disadvantaged to try and help... IMHO the social programs of the 60's were a "swing of the pendulum" that went "too far". And at this point much of that stuff is an "Anachronism".

That said, I ALSO see them (those "wrongs") as a natural outcome of the "wrongs" that preceded them. Pretty obvious stuff, and only a complete Ostrich woudln't notice this EXACT SAME phenomena replaying itself all over the globe over and over again:

Evolution of society as it were.

Pretty obvious... if the preceding events ("wrongs") hadn't occurred, neither would THEY ("the ensuing wrongs") have occurred.
