[Splitter]
Bill.

What happens if I have more than one phone on the
same line? Would I hear a lot of noise from the
phones that are not connected to Aware's lite
modem? I think installation is also an option
with Westell and Amati modems which have external
splitters, just plug the splitter to a phone
socket inside the house.

Regards

Louie

<< Does anyone understand what's involved with installing a splitter? >>

I am personally confused by the splitter comments with regards to difficulty installing and the lack of people at the Bells to perform the services for customers.

I always thought that the customer needs three things for ADSL...
1. NIC card
2. Splitter
3. Modem

And that
1. The splitter is easy to install
2. With regards for needing people...The Bells (GTE?) are going to be outsourcing the install gig. For example, with Pacbell, they are using a company called PrimeServices (888-844-2375) to send a fellow/woman/seal to come over and "install" and "get you up and running" with your 3 ADSL things listed above. They basically help change/integrate the line and program the equipment if needed.

So, am I off or is this all no big deal?

ALL IMHO
