Sector:

I liked how you articulated the situation with both companies. Now one possible answer to your question of What the Dickens is going on? can be summarized as: perception, perception, perception!

1. CSCO has appx. 670 million outstanding shares, while ASND has appx. 190 million. Meanwhile insiders at CSCO has sold only appx. 9000 shares within the last 3 months, while ASND insiders have sold over 500K!

2. CSCO's management has always been up front with the share holders and analysts! When they are not doing so hot they come out and say so, and when they are doing so great they either do not say anything or at best talk about it in a modest manner. ASND on the other hand has had a big mouth and an unbelievable arrogant attitude. Regardless of how bad or good their business has been doing they have always said everything is great, no problem!

3. And finally CSCO does not have a CEO who opens his mouth and embaresses himself afterward by responding to the question as why he has been dumping his shares: "You cannot have all of the eggs in one basket, Even Bob Dole needs to diversify now that he's retired." . Can anyone explain what does Bob Dole have to with this?!!!!! What was Ejabat smoking at the time he made this statement?!!

The answer to your question is simple: perception, perception, perception, combined with hidden fundamental facts that us small share holders will not find out till it is too late!

Regards,

Addi Jamshidi

Sector - "What the Dickens is going on"

Back when CSCC was young, their man with a vision (Desh) personally
went to Japan and apologized for some minor problems with one
of their products.
This attitude, and fine people like Desh made that company great.

By contrast, ASND refused to admit that there were minor problems
with the MAX products , and incurred the rath of the street, and
ASND's own customers.

Ascend bought Cascade, but apparently does not realize yet that
they own a Wide Area Network Company.

Their myopic thinking has not allowed them to capitalize on the
fact that they are now a highly diversified, and quite outstanding
company.

Most people on this thread also do not realize that Ascend is
much more than a RAS company.

Hopefully people like you can help to change this misunderstanding.

Regards, MM
