If my understanding that it is the efficient way to organize is correct it will happen automatically under a truly free market.

What's kept if from happening in the free market so far?

The best feature is that if I am wrong the market will find a more efficient way to organize with any direction from people who think they are smarter than the collective wisdom of all market participants.

Then how did we get in this mess?
