Interesting you should ask me about options, I've been considering them myself. If it's a guarantee that the stock will be above the strike price, the 20's at $7 are your best bet. However, 20 + 7 = 27. The 25's look better to me at $5. 25+5 = 30, only $3 difference than the 20's, but you save $2 buying the options, so it's a net difference of $1. WHEN you should buy these calls is anyone's guess. Some people think we've bottomed out, others have said we will back and fill, the shorts think they can drive it into the teens. Good luck.

bh, no advice offered on options, however
"does the wash sales apply to options when i sell my shares at a loss"

yes if you pick up options its like picking up the shares wrt wash. So, what does that mean, that you can't declare the transaction, only raise the basis of the shares?

If you want to stay in speculation biz re: semi equip you could get shares/options in AMAT - same price behavior (possibly a stronger rebound).
