re: precipitous decline in clothing expenditures as % of US disposable income

the first stock i ever owned was 100 shares of Cluett Peabody, which I received as a gift from my father when i turned 13

it was worth about $350

Cluett Peabody was a 150 year old New England textile mill

i am very glad that i sold it before i turned 15 for almost 5 i think

i have friends who haven't spent a penny on clothes in years

about 7 years ago i shorted the Gap because they seemed to have lost their focus

both CLU and GPS were profitable trades for me although i didn't make very much on either one

i suppose i should look for stocks in industries with precipitous rises in expenditures as % of US disposable income

oops, that was housing companies in 2007

and health care today
