Dem on health care bill: 'Extreme times require extreme measures' By: Byron York Chief Political Correspondent 03/19/10 5:13 PM EDT On the House floor a few moments after 5:00 p.m. Friday, Florida Democratic Rep. Alcee Hastings, discussing Republican protests over the handling of the Democrat's national health care bill, said that *"Extreme times require extreme measures to ensure that we pass a health care bill that America deserves."* As far as those extreme measures are concerned, the House Rules Committee will hold an "emergency meeting" at 10 a.m. Saturday to consider the health care measures.
