the IRS is given new powers and vast numbers of new employees to enforce this.

Let's get down in the weeds. They will have a section on your IRS tax form where you will have to list your Health Ins policy, it's premium, and it's number. So you fill it in. They are not going to check it unless they are pulling a full field audit.

So you go to the hospital, run up a $100K bill, have no Ins, and can't pay it. They will hit you with a non-bankruptable bill for it and attach your wages/bank/house to collect it.

This will force many people "off the grid."
