The Shrine Down the Hall - Bedrooms of America's Young War Dead ow.ly

After seven years of war, and more than 5,000 war dead, a look at bedrooms left behind by young soldiers, kept as memorials by their parents.

Parents of a friend of mine who was killed by a land mine in Vietnam did this. It is heart wrenching. As far as I know they kept his bedroom intact until they passed away. His mother would go in and sit on the bed for hours on Sunday afternoons.
