Overvaluation alert: CIEN Price to Sales=22, APAT P/S=24, no earnings. One company, CIEN is the hottest IPO of the year and perhaps deserves to trade at 22 times trailing sales, but then again it has a gross margin of 60%, makes a pretax profit of 30% and is one of the fastest growing companies in America. On the other hand Applied Optics (APAT) trades at 24 times trailing sales, has no growth, has a gross margin of 30% and a pre-tax profit of -5% (negative five percent) and hasn't made money on an annual basis since 1991. While APAT may think it is in the WDM space, no one but the do-dos in this chat room put any credence on APAT making anything of itself.So why is the stock so overvalued-must be the Minneaplois rumor mill and small time market makers moving illiquid stock.Just a matter of time before this oen gets found out. By the way- just love the rank amateur posting implying that I'm trying to get you to sell the stock. Clearly I am out to crush it. GOLDFINGER !!!!!!!!!! What a crock of s.. you guys are such LWs. In no uncertain terms, I am short this stock and have a lot more to do.
