This is a complete about-face from KLIC's position on 10/8/97 when I questioned Jim Chaffrey in detail about KLIC's plans about making flip chip bumping equipment. I simply assumed that KLIC would be forced to cannabilize its wire bonders and was shocked when Jim told me that they had no such plans at the present time (having aborted a previous attempt to do so).

It looks to me like the dive in KLIC's stock may have made Scott revive the project.
