I suspect all will be forgiven if the economy improves significantly by November, if not, we will see some other types of significant changes...congressional seats.

The vote is a negative, a strong negative. Things will be worse because of it. OTOH too strong of negative comments about it can backfire. If its not just "a horrible vote that will cause problems for the country", but "the end of the country", than 10 years later the country is still rolling along, the statists will you such earlier statements as an argument that people should discount the negative predictions, made by those those who value liberty over state control, about future state expansions.
