Ann Coulter says something outrageous — even before landing in London

American conservative firebrand Ann Coulter won't need long to warm up her act in London Monday evening — she’s already set her sights on Canadian Medicare and Quebec.

“By the time I leave Canada I expect them to repeal socialized medicine and kick out Quebec,” Coulter wrote in an e-mail Sunday to The Free Press.

Her first vow would be a case of tit for tat: By the time Coulter returns to her homeland, after stops later this week in Ottawa and Calgary, U.S. President Barack Obama will have signed into law a historic health care bill that brings a safety net to the uninsured, a development American conservatives lament is the creation of socialized medicine.

Coulter will appear Monday evening at the University of Western Ontario.

The event will be in room 101 of the North Campus building and doors open at 7 p.m., with a talk and question-and-answer period followed by Coulter selling and signing her 7th book, Guilty.

Her appearance has been criticized by local activist and one-time NDP candidate Megan Walker, who says Coulter promotes hate and violence.

The United States already has programs that pay health care costs for seniors, veterans and those collecting welfare and allows people to deduct health care costs off their income.
