Yeah, I knew I would forget something in there. But when you look at all the years that Republicans held the White House after Ike, their ability to deliver lasting change was minimal.

Of course, they don't believe that government should do much at all, so we shouldn't be surprised at that.

You could say that Nixon did those things, but Democrats were in control of Congress at that time. Nixon did propose the formation of the EPA, which melded several disparate federal agencies into one, but I believe the Clean Air Act of 1970 and the Clean Water Act were Congressional initiatives. If I'm wrong about that, I expect to be corrected. ;-)
