gotcha. you are correct that government ultimately controls the weapons that ultimately determine the outcome.

the question is who controls the government.

while uber money is sure controlling our government to the detriment of the citizenry (eg, I believe the price of the $1000 hammers was the point - legalized asset stripping from citizenry to special interest - and if it was debt it was even better as compound interest accrued on the $1000 hammer for as eternal as the nation can prop up the scam!), it need not always be so and hasn't alway been so.

we'll what direction this goes. when it takes $33 million to run an average congressional campaign (one campaign, repeat for each re-election bid), though, it will be real hard to say "no" to the providers of said $33 million.

especially now that corporations can go unlimited spending to influence elections.

unfortunately, we still live in a talking points driven society (w/o much regard for the actual truth).
