Well TO, I'm pleased to read that someone with your investing experience has taken another look at the "fundamental innards" of EBIX and can also see no logical reason for shorting this stock.

If the financial fundamentals are as we see them then those who invested heavily on the "short" side, a while back, are eventually going to be so squeezed that they'll be turned into high pitched "falsettos" !

I had a look at the Nasdaq shorting link for EBIX ...

nasdaq.com

... and it will be interesting to see what the short situation looks like when they next update the figures.

I see EBIX is over $17 today, currently at $17.10c and 2.15% up. As we saw, it closed at $16.74c yesterday.

Just as a matter of interest, TO, I used the fairly extensive STOCK SCREENER at the www.finviz.com site today and punched in the following parameters for any USA stock on any USA Exchange in any Sector. Several of those parameters are equal to or more strict than Buffett's recommendations :-

1)P/E < 20
2)Return on Equity > 25%
3)Debt/Equity < 0.8
4)Gross margin > 40%
5)Operating Margin > 30%
6)Net Profit Margin > 20%
7)Return on Assets > 15%

Believe it or not, the Screen came up with only ONE stock ....

EBIX !!

In my previous post, TO, regarding the Finviz screener, I did not include the following parameter that I had also used in the screening ...

8) Current Ratio < 1

Excluding this parameter the screen came up with only 21 companies out of a potential total of 5851 USA companies.
