Dear Jim :

Great post:....Don't you feel a special connection between the Lord and also Luke for him recording the parable of the unjust steward.

I feel the key to the interpretation is in Luke 16: 9 where the Lord says shall we make ourselves friends with the mammon of unrighteousness, NO NO of course not.

To begin I shall relate to you something as a businessman who has prospered in the Lord and my observations of not only people in general but also Christians .To many people there is a double standard. Behave one way but when it comes to business no " holds sanctioned ". I do not feel that way. Where do we spend most of our time and effort.....in business, at work, on the job......these are the areas we will Most have to stand before the Lord and account for our actions not the LEAST of areas.

Now to return to our parable !!!!! You are right !!!!! The master did not place a lot of IMPORTANCE on the money.. The MONEY represents being faithful over the LITTLE or LEAST what are the true riches that God entrusts to us.....pastor, sunday school teacher, deacon, ursery worker, witness, evangilist, usher, bus driver, choir member......

If the unjust worker was commended then how much more so shall we be commended for our righteous acts that involve, Clear thinking, Wisdom, Shrewdness, Foresight, Study ect......

In Christ my brother..........gregor
