I spent too many years in the hospital to worry about shaking hands.
Actually, not true...if I was coffeed up @ 4:30AM and needed to draw a blood gas, I'd worry about mine shaking.

Tended to wear mask and gloves less than many colleagues who felt they were bacterially challenged. I liked to exercise my immune system. I wore gloves more to protect others than mice elf. They wouldn't help me much if I stuck my finger with a needle. They were latex, not flexible teflon.
